About this tool

The AGS Reducer helps you create smaller, focused AGS files by removing groups and locations you don't need. This is useful when sharing data with third parties who only need specific information, or when working with large files that contain more data than required for a particular task.

All processing happens in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server, keeping your project data secure and private.

How to use

Upload your AGS file using the dropzone or by clicking to browse. Once loaded, you'll see a list of all groups and locations in the file.

Check the boxes next to any groups or locations you want to exclude from the output. The preview section shows how many groups, locations, and records will be in your reduced file.

Click Download to save your filtered AGS file. The output file will have '_reduced' appended to the original filename.

Features

Group filtering: Remove entire data groups (SAMP, ISPT, CORE, etc.) from the output file. Useful when sharing files with parties who don't need all test data.

Location filtering: Exclude specific boreholes, trial pits, or other locations. All associated records across all groups are automatically removed.

Quick select by type: Premium users can filter locations by type (e.g., exclude all trial pits or all CPTs) with a single click.

Live preview: See exactly how many groups, locations, and records will be in your output file before downloading.

Limitations

This tool filters data but does not validate the output AGS file. If you remove groups that other groups depend on (e.g., removing LOCA but keeping SAMP), the output file may not be fully compliant with AGS standards.

The free tier is limited to 1 file at a time with a maximum size of 5 MB. Premium users can process up to 20 files simultaneously with a 20 MB limit per file.
