Cookie Policy
How we use cookies and similar technologies.
Last updated 8 February 2026What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners.
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They include:
- Authentication cookies: If you sign in to Diggy, a secure HttpOnly session cookie is used to keep you signed in. This cookie is managed by our authentication provider, Neon Auth, and is deleted when you sign out or when your session expires.
- Theme preference: Remembers your choice of light or dark mode.
- Vote tracking: When you vote on a tool without an account, we set an HttpOnly cookie (
voted_tools) to remember which tools you have voted on. This cookie expires after 1 year.
Analytics Cookies
We use PostHog to understand how visitors interact with our site. PostHog may set cookies to track page views, session duration and basic device information.
PostHog only creates person profiles for identified (signed-in) users. Anonymous visitors are tracked at the session level without personal identifiers.
You can opt out of PostHog tracking by enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" setting or by using a content blocker.
Third-Party Cookies
Our website may include content or services from third parties that may set their own cookies. These include:
- Google: If you sign in with Google, Google may set cookies as part of the OAuth flow.
- PostHog: Analytics cookies as described above.
We have no control over third-party cookies. Please refer to the relevant provider's cookie policy for more information.
Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use your browser's local storage to:
- Theme preference: Store your light or dark mode choice
- Calculator history: Save your recent calculations (up to 10 per tool) so you can refer back to them
Data stored locally remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear this data at any time through your browser's settings or by clearing the calculator history within each tool.
Managing Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete all or specific cookies
- Block cookies from being set
- Set preferences for certain websites
Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in or using features that require an account.
Your Consent
By continuing to use our website, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
