Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. Here's how we handle your data.
Last updated 8 February 2026Introduction
Diggy ("we", "our" or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, handle and protect your information when you use our website at diggy.tools.
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with Diggy.
Using tools without an account
Our calculators and data tools run entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store or transmit any data you input into our tools. Files you upload (such as AGS files) are processed on your device and are not sent to our servers.
If you vote on a tool without an account, we store a cookie on your device to remember your vote. No personal information is associated with anonymous votes.
Creating an account
If you choose to create an account using Google sign-in, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. This data is managed by our authentication provider, Neon Auth, and is used solely to identify your account.
Using features that require an account
When you are signed in, we store the following in our database linked to your user ID:
- Favourites: Which tools you have saved to your favourites
- Votes: Which tools you have marked as helpful
Automatically collected information
We also collect minimal technical information through:
- Server logs: IP addresses, browser type and pages visited for security and rate limiting purposes. IP addresses are not stored long-term.
- Analytics: We use PostHog to understand how our site is used. This includes page views, session duration and device/browser information. See our Cookie Policy for details.
- Cookies: Essential cookies for authentication and site functionality. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
How We Use Information
Any information we collect is used solely to:
- Provide and maintain your account and preferences
- Ensure the security and proper functioning of our website
- Understand how our tools are used so we can improve them
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Storage and Security
Account data and preferences (favourites, votes) are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon. Authentication and session data is managed by Neon Auth. All connections are encrypted in transit.
Calculator inputs and results are never stored on our servers. Any calculation history is saved locally in your browser's storage and can be cleared at any time.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Neon: Database hosting and authentication (stores account data and preferences)
- Google: OAuth sign-in provider (receives your authorisation when you sign in with Google)
- PostHog: Privacy-focused analytics (receives anonymised usage data)
- Sanity: Content management (serves tool descriptions and blog content; no user data is sent to Sanity)
Each service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
Data Retention
We retain data for the following periods:
- Account data: Until you delete your account
- Favourites and votes: Until you remove them or delete your account
- Anonymous vote cookies: 1 year
- Analytics data: Retained by PostHog for up to 90 days
- Calculator history: Stored in your browser until you clear it
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights including:
- The right to access any personal data we hold about you
- The right to request correction or deletion of your data
- The right to object to processing of your data
- The right to data portability
You can delete your favourites and votes at any time through your account settings. To request full deletion of your account and associated data, please contact us.
